The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a special group of three people. They work together as the head of state for the country of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Think of them as the main leaders who represent the country.
This group has three members. One member is a Bosniak, one is a Serb, and one is a Croat. This setup helps make sure all major groups in Bosnia and Herzegovina are represented.
The Bosniak and Croat members are chosen by voters in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Serb member is chosen by voters in Republika Srpska. This means people from different parts of the country vote for their representatives.
Each member serves for four years. They can be re-elected for one more four-year term right after their first. However, there is no limit to how many terms they can serve in total, as long as they don't serve more than two in a row.
Even though all three members lead together, one person is chosen as the chairperson. This job rotates among the three members. Each person gets to be chairperson for eight months. The person who received the most votes in the election usually becomes the first chairperson.
