Preston is a small village in the north-west part of Tasmania, Australia. It's close to towns like Ulverstone and Upper Castra. Preston is part of the Central Coast Council area. In 2021, a count of people living there, called a census, showed that 149 people called Preston home.

A Look Back: Preston's History
Preston had its own Post Office, which first opened its doors on October 1, 1896. It served the community for many years before closing in 1981.
Where is Preston? (Geography)
Preston is located within the Braddon Division. You can reach it from Upper Castra by taking Preston Road and Castra Road. These roads also go through the village of Leport and connect to the main road in Ulverstone.
Preston is about 13.1 kilometers from Gawler and 17.8 kilometers from Forth. The Wilmot River forms the eastern boundary of the village. The weather in Preston is usually mild, meaning not too hot or too cold.
Discover Preston Falls
Preston Falls is a beautiful, tall waterfall that plunges 25 meters down. It's located above an area called Gunns Plains.
This waterfall is just a short drive from Ulverstone. Ulverstone is about 20 kilometers west of Devonport or 28 kilometers east of Burnie, both found along the Bass Highway.
Learning in Preston (Education)
Preston used to have its own school, Preston Primary School. However, the education board closed it in 1994, even after the community tried to save it. The old school building is now a private home.
