The Prime Minister of North Macedonia is the main leader of the government in North Macedonia. This person is officially called the President of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia. They lead the country's cabinet, which is like a team of ministers who help run the country.
Usually, the prime minister is also the leader of the political group or party that has the most support in the parliament. The current prime minister is Hristijan Mickoski. He started his job on June 23, 2024.

How the Prime Minister's Role Works
The prime minister is a very important person in North Macedonia. They are in charge of making sure the government works well. They lead meetings with other ministers and help decide on new laws and policies for the country.
Sometimes, before new elections, a special kind of prime minister takes over. This is a temporary prime minister who has fewer powers. This happens to make sure the elections are fair. These temporary leaders are sometimes called "technical prime ministers." For example, Emil Dimitriev, Oliver Spasovski, and Talat Xhaferi have all served as technical prime ministers.
Leaders of North Macedonia Through Time
North Macedonia has had many leaders over the years. Before it became an independent country, it was part of a larger country called Yugoslavia. During that time, its leaders were called "Ministers for Macedonia" or "Chairmen of the Executive Council." After North Macedonia became independent, its leaders were called "Prime Ministers."

During this time, North Macedonia was known as the Socialist Republic of Macedonia. Most of its leaders were from the Communist Party.
