Princeton is a friendly town located in Johnston County, North Carolina, USA. In 2020, about 1,315 people lived here. Every May, the town celebrates Princeton Community Day. This is a fun festival that brings everyone together and shows off town spirit! People in Princeton also vote for their mayor and town council members in elections held every two years.

History of Princeton
Princeton started as a town called Boon Hill in 1861. It was named after a nearby family's large farm. Later, in 1873, its name was changed to Princeton.
An old building called the Gurley Mill was built in 1914. It was used to grind corn and make animal feed. Sadly, this historic mill, which was the oldest building in Princeton, burned down in November 2020.
The Princeton Graded School is a very important building. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means it is recognized for its special history and architecture.
Geography of Princeton
Princeton is located in the eastern part of Johnston County. A main road, U.S. Route 70, runs along the northern edge of the town.
- If you travel northwest on U.S. Route 70, you will reach Interstate 95 near Selma in about 9 miles.
- If you go southeast on U.S. Route 70, you will get to Goldsboro in about 11 miles.
The United States Census Bureau says that Princeton covers a total area of about 1.16 square miles (3.00 square kilometers). All of this area is land, with no water.
