Priyanka Karki is a talented Nepalese actress, model, director, and writer. She also won the Miss Teen Nepal pageant in 2005. She is known for her roles in popular Nepali films and her work in music.

Priyanka Karki was born in 1987 in Kathmandu, Nepal. Her parents are Bhupendra Karki and Raksha Malhotra. She studied at the University of North Alabama in the United States. There, she earned a bachelor's degree in Film and Digital Media Production. She also studied Theatre and graduated with high honors.

Acting Journey

Priyanka Karki started her acting career as an adult in 2012. Her first movie was "3 Lovers," where she played two different characters. In 2015, she starred in the movie Sadanga, which was well-liked by audiences. Her next big film was Nai Nabannu La 2. This movie earned a lot of money at the box office.
Priyanka's acting in Jholay and Nai Na Bhannu La 2 brought her many awards. She won the Online Filmykhabar Award for Best Actress. She also received the NEFTA Award and INFA awards for her supporting roles.
She also sang the original song for her movie Aawaran. This marked her start as a singer in the Nepalese music world. Later, she sang with Yama Buddha for the same movie.
Her film Suntali was chosen for a special screening. It premiered at the 19th Busan International Film Festival in South Korea. Even though Suntali did not make a lot of money, Priyanka won Best Actor (Female) for her role. She received this award from the National Film Critics Award (NFCA) and the NFDC National Film Awards.
In 2015, Priyanka starred in the horror film Mala. She played a mysterious widow with long black hair. She also featured in the song "Surke Thaili Khai." This song became the first Nepali song to reach 20 million views on YouTube.
Music Journey
Priyanka Karki has also made a name for herself in music. She recorded a cover of Bacchu Kailash's classic song "Timi le ta Hoina." She also teamed up with YouTube artist Nattu Shah. Together, they covered Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat's song 'Lucky'.
Her first original song, "Swatantra," came out on January 1, 2016. The song is about freedom and independence. It quickly became very popular. It had over 300,000 views in just two weeks. In two months, it reached one million views.
Priyanka is also a judge on Boogie Woogie Nepal. This is the first international dancing reality show in Nepal. She judges alongside choreographer Kabiraj Gahatraj and actor Dilip Rayamajhi.
Personal Life
Priyanka Karki was married to Rochak Mainali when she was 22. They later divorced after two years. In February 2020, Priyanka married her long-time boyfriend. He is also a Nepali actor, Ayushman DS Joshi. They welcomed their first child, a baby girl, in September 2021.
