Priyanka Karki DS Joshi is a famous Nepalese actress, model, director, and writer. She also won the Miss Teen Nepal pageant in 2005.

Early Life and Education
Priyanka Karki was born in 1987 in Kathmandu, Nepal. Her parents are Bhupendra Karki and Raksha Malhotra. She studied at the University of North Alabama in the United States. She earned a bachelor's degree in Film and Digital Media Production. She also studied Theatre and graduated with high honors.
Her Career in Entertainment
Starting as an Actress

Priyanka Karki started her acting career as an adult in 2012. Her first movie was "3 Lovers," where she played two different characters. In 2015, she starred in the movie Sadanga, which was a gangster thriller. Audiences really liked her performance in this film.
Her next big movie was Nai Nabannu La 2, where she acted alongside Suraj Singh Thakuri. This movie earned a lot of money, more than four million Nepalese Rupees. Priyanka's acting in Jholay and Nai Na Bhannu La 2 helped her win several awards. She received the Online Filmykhabar Award for Best Actress. She also won the NEFTA Award and the INFA award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Female). She was also named INFA Most Popular Actor (Female).
Her movie Aawaran did not do as well at the box office. However, it was special because Priyanka started her singing career with this movie. She sang the original song from Aawaran with Yama Buddha.
Priyanka's movie Suntali was chosen for a special showing at the 19th Busan International Film Festival. It was shown in the 'A Window on Asian Cinema' section. Suntali was released in February 2015. Even though it wasn't a huge commercial success, Priyanka won Best Actor (Female) for her role. She received this award at the National Film Critics Award (NFCA) and the NFDC National Film Awards 2017.
In 2015, Priyanka played the main character in the horror movie Mala. She played a widow with long black hair and a white sari. She was seen throughout the movie but spoke only one word. Priyanka also appeared in the music video for the song "Surke Thaili Khai." This song became very popular and was the first Nepali song to get 20 million views on YouTube.
Her Music Journey
Priyanka Karki has also had a successful music career. She recorded a cover song of Bacchu Kailash's classic "Timi le ta Hoina." She also made a video for it. Priyanka worked with YouTube performer Nattu Shah to record a cover of 'Lucky' by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat.
Her first original song, "Swatantra," was released on January 1, 2016. This song is about freedom and independence. It quickly became very popular, getting over 300,000 views in just two weeks. In the first two months, it reached a million views.
Priyanka is also a judge on Boogie Woogie Nepal. This is the first international dancing reality show in Nepal. She judges alongside choreographer Kabiraj Gahatraj and actor Dilip Rayamajhi.
Personal Life
Priyanka Karki married Rochak Mainali when she was 22 years old. They later divorced after two years. After some time, Priyanka married her long-time boyfriend, fellow Nepali actor Ayushman DS Joshi, in February 2020. They welcomed their first child, Ayanka Karki Joshi, in September 2021.
