Pueblo Lavalleja, also known as Colonia Lavalleja, is a small village in the northern part of the Salto Department in Uruguay. It is a quiet place with a small number of people living there. The village is actually made up of two smaller areas called Migliaro and Lluveras.
The name Colonia Lavalleja is also used for the larger local government area (like a county) that the village is part of.

Where is Pueblo Lavalleja?
Pueblo Lavalleja is located between two rivers: the Río Arapey Grande and the Río Arapey Chico. It's about 7 kilometers (4.3 miles) west of Route 4, which is a main road in Uruguay.
Just 1.5 kilometers (about 1 mile) west of the village, you can find a monument. This monument honors Juan Antonio Lavalleja, an important historical figure in Uruguay.
A Look at History
Pueblo Lavalleja became an official "Pueblo" (which means village) a long time ago. This happened on March 5, 1860. It was recognized by a special law called Ley Nº 613.
How Many People Live Here?
In the year 2004, the village of Pueblo Lavalleja had a population of 1,049 people.
During the 2011 census, the two parts of the village were counted separately. Migliaro had 733 residents, and Lluveras had 223 residents. If you add those numbers together, the total population for Pueblo Lavalleja in 2011 was 956 people.
