The Arapey Grande River is an important river located in northwestern Uruguay. It flows through the Salto Department. This river starts in the northeast part of the department, close to the border with the Rivera Department. From there, it travels west and eventually flows into the large Uruguay River.

The Arapey Grande River is about 227 kilometres (141 mi) long. Many smaller streams join it along its path. All these smaller rivers, called tributaries, are found within the Salto Department. Some of its main tributaries include Arroyo Sarandí del Arapey, Arroyo Cambara, and Arroyo Mataojo Grande. Other important ones are Arroyo del Sauce and Arroyo Valentín Grande. The Arapey Chico River is also a tributary. It even forms part of the border with the Artigas Department.
