Puente la Reina de Jaca (in Aragonese: Puen d'a Reina de Chaca) is a small town in Spain. It is located in a region called La Jacetania, within the province of Huesca, in Aragon. A municipality is like a local area with its own government.
This town sits right on the bank of the Aragón River. It gets its name from a bridge nearby. "Puente la Reina" means "Bridge of the Queen."
History of Puente la Reina
This area has a long history. In the year 833, a leader named Galindo Aznárez I took control of this region. He was connected to the powerful Carolingian royal family in France. This was a time when different groups were fighting for control of land in Spain.
