Purgitsville is a small, unincorporated community located in Hampshire County, which is part of the state of West Virginia in the United States. An "unincorporated community" means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a city or town with its own local government.
Back in 2000, a special area called a ZCTA that includes Purgitsville had about 813 people living there. Purgitsville is easy to find because it's right on U.S. Highway 220 and West Virginia Route 28. It's also near Huffman Road. There used to be an elementary school here called Mill Creek Elementary, but it closed in 1993 and joined with Romney Elementary.
