Píñar is a small town, also called a municipality, located in the province of Granada, Spain. It is about 46 kilometers (28 miles) from the city of Granada. Píñar is also 11 kilometers (7 miles) from Iznalloz, which is the main town of the Los Montes Orientales area.

This town is home to some amazing historical places. You can find the old ruins of a large castle here. Experts believe the Romans first built this castle. Later, the Moors, who were people from North Africa, used and rebuilt it. This castle is so important that it has been declared a national monument. This means it is protected by the country because of its historical value.

Píñar also has a group of famous caves called the Cuevas de las Ventanas. These caves are a popular spot for visitors. Another important historical place in the area is the Carigüela archaeological site. An archaeological site is a place where scientists study old human history by digging up artifacts.

Píñar has a special connection with the city of Tetuán in Morocco. They are known as "sister cities." This means they have a friendly relationship, often sharing culture and ideas.
