Quinton Arne Patton (born August 9, 1990) is a former American football player. He played as a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). Quinton played college football for the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. The San Francisco 49ers chose him in the 2013 NFL draft.

Early Life and High School
Quinton Patton was born in Nashville, Tennessee. As a kid, he played little league football for the UNA Bears. He also played football and baseball at Stratford High School. Later, he moved to La Vergne High School in La Vergne, Tennessee. There, he played high school football for the La Vergne Wolverines. Experts saw him as a promising player. He decided to play college football at Louisiana Tech University.
College Football Journey
Patton first attended Coffeyville Community College for three years. After that, he transferred to Louisiana Tech University. He chose Louisiana Tech over other schools like South Florida and Troy. He played for the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs football team in 2011 and 2012.
In his first year, Quinton was named a top player in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). He caught 79 passes for 1,202 yards. He also scored 11 touchdowns. In 2012, he had an even better year. He caught 104 passes for 1,392 yards and scored 13 touchdowns. Again, he was a first-team All-WAC selection.
Playing in the NFL
San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers picked Quinton Patton in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL draft. He was the 128th player chosen overall. Quinton was so excited that he flew to San Francisco right away. His coaches were impressed by his eagerness.
Rookie Year: 2013
Patton started his first season as a backup player. This means he was ready to play if another player needed a break. He got a foot injury early in the season. This kept him from playing most of his rookie year. Before the last game, he had only one catch for zero yards.
However, Quinton played a big role in the final game against the Arizona Cardinals. He caught a 29-yard pass that helped the 49ers win with a last-minute field goal. He also made a 26-yard run and blocked for another player. His coach, Jim Harbaugh, was very happy with his return from injury.
Patton played in his first NFL playoff game against the Green Bay Packers. He didn't catch any passes in that game. But in his second playoff game, he made an important 23-yard catch.
2014 Season
In 2014, Patton played in only four games. In the last game of the season, he made a key 35-yard catch. This helped the 49ers win against the Arizona Cardinals by a score of 20–17.
2015 Season
On October 18, 2015, Quinton Patton scored his first NFL touchdown. He caught a pass from Colin Kaepernick. This happened during the 49ers' 25–20 win over the Baltimore Ravens.
2016 Season
In 2016, Patton started 14 games. He caught 37 passes for 408 yards. He was placed on injured reserve on December 20, 2016. This means he couldn't play for the rest of the season due to an injury.
New York Jets
On March 23, 2017, Patton signed with the New York Jets. However, he was placed on injured reserve again in June 2017 because of a foot injury. He was later released from the team.
Birmingham Iron
In 2019, Patton joined the Birmingham Iron team. This team was part of a new league called the Alliance of American Football. On February 9, 2019, Quinton played his first game for the Iron. He caught four passes for 107 yards. The league stopped playing games in April 2019.
