The Qutub Minar (pronounced Koo-tub Mee-nar) is a very tall tower in Delhi, India. It's part of a bigger area called the Qutab complex. This amazing place is so important that UNESCO has named it a World Heritage Site.

About Qutub Minar
The Qutub Minar is a type of tower called a minaret. It stands 73 metres (240 feet) tall, which is about as high as a 24-story building! The tower has five different levels, or storeys.
How Tall Is It?
The tower gets narrower as it goes up. At the bottom, it's about 14 metres (47 feet) wide. But at the very top, it's only about 2.7 metres (9 feet) wide. Inside the tower, there's a spiral staircase with 379 steps that goes all the way to the top.
Who Built This Tower?
The building of the Qutub Minar started a long time ago. It was begun by a ruler named Qutb-ud-din Aibak. Later, his son-in-law, Iltutmish, finished building it. This happened many centuries ago, making it a very old and important structure.
Why Is It Important?
The Qutub Minar is a great example of old Indian architecture. It shows the amazing building skills of people from the past. Because of its history and unique design, it was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Site list in 1993. This means it's a special place that the whole world should help protect.
