History of Röschenz
Röschenz was first written about in 1290. Back then, it was called de Roetschentzo. For a long time, until 1723, its name was Reuschansse.

Röschenz covers an area of about 10 square kilometers (about 4 square miles). A big part of this land, about 60%, is covered by forests. About 32% is used for farming. The rest of the land has buildings, roads, or rivers.
The town is in the Laufen district. It sits in the Lützel valley, on a flat area in the Blauen hills. Röschenz is a "linear village," meaning its buildings stretch out along a road.
