Dittingen covers an area of about 6.75 square kilometers (that's about 2.6 square miles). A big part of this land, almost 30%, is used for farming. Even more, about 62%, is covered by forests.

The town itself, with its buildings and roads, takes up about 7% of the land. A tiny bit, less than 1%, is made up of rivers or lakes.

Dittingen is nestled in a valley that branches off from the main Birs river valley. It's a lovely spot surrounded by nature.
