The building was first known as Midwest Plaza. Later, it was called McGladrey Plaza. In October 2015, its name changed to RSM Plaza. This happened because RSM US, a large company, became its main tenant.

About RSM Plaza
RSM Plaza is the 30th tallest building in Minneapolis. It is located on a famous street called Nicollet Mall. When it was built, it was one of the tallest buildings in the city. It was the fifth tallest overall and the second tallest modern high-rise building. Only the Canadian Pacific Plaza was taller at that time.
Connected to the City
RSM Plaza is connected to other buildings. It uses Minneapolis's special skyway system. This means you can walk from RSM Plaza to The Metro Apartments. You can also reach the Medical Arts Building and the IDS Center without going outside.

In December 2015, a company called GOLUB bought RSM Plaza. GOLUB is an international company. They focus on investing in and developing real estate. GOLUB Realty Services LLC manages the building.

RSM Plaza in Pop Culture
RSM Plaza is famous for another reason. It was featured in a popular TV show. The building was used as the home of the fictional WJM-TV station. This was in The Mary Tyler Moore Show. This show was a funny TV series. It was shown on CBS from 1970 to 1977. Parts of the show's opening credits were filmed nearby on Nicollet Mall.
