Rab C. Nesbitt is a popular Scottish comedy series that first started in 1988. It was made by BBC Scotland. The show stars Gregor Fisher as Rab C. Nesbitt, a well-known character from Glasgow, Scotland. The series follows his life and the funny situations he gets into.

About the Show
The very first episode of Rab C. Nesbitt was a special Christmas show. It was called Rab C Nesbitt's Seasonal Greet and aired on December 22, 1988. This special was so popular that it was shown again the next year!
The first full series of the show began on September 27, 1990. The series continued for seven more seasons, ending on June 18, 1999. After a break, the show returned for a special episode on December 23, 2008.
Famous Guest Stars
Many famous actors and personalities have appeared in Rab C. Nesbitt. Some of these include Peter Mullan, Timothy Spall, Stanley Baxter, and Peter Capaldi. Even actors who later became very famous, like David Tennant and Ashley Jensen, had roles in the show.
In 2009, Scottish singer Susan Boyle, who was a runner-up on Britain's Got Talent, also made a special appearance in an episode.
Live Shows and Books
In 1991, the show went on a live tour called Rab C. Nesbitt: In the Flesh. Because of the tour, no new TV series was made that year. A recording of this live show was released on video in 1992.
Fans of the show could also read two script books that came out. There was even a novel called A Stranger Here Myself, which was written as Rab's own story.
In 2016, there were plans for Rab C. Nesbitt to return with more live shows in Glasgow, just like another popular Scottish comedy, Still Game.
