Rachel Berman (born Susan King; 1946-2014) was an artist who painted and illustrated children's books. She was born in the United States but also became a Canadian citizen. Rachel lived and worked in Canada, the United States, and Ireland.
Her paintings are known for their mysterious figures and hidden stories. These artworks often reflected the puzzles Rachel solved in her own life. For example, she was known as Susan King for many years. When she was 52, she found out her original birth name, her true birth date, and the names of her biological parents. This discovery led her to use her birth name, Rachel Berman, again.
Rachel Berman was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. Later in her life, she lived in Victoria, British Columbia.
