How Rainbow Got Its Name

The story of how Rainbow got its unique name goes back to the 1890s. People living in the area wanted to have their own post office. So, they all gathered together to decide on a name for their community.

During their meeting, a big thunderstorm happened. After the storm passed, a beautiful rainbow appeared in the sky. Everyone was amazed by how lovely the rainbow looked. Because of this special moment, they decided to name their community "Rainbow."

History and Population

In the 1920s, about 113 people lived in Rainbow. After that time, the number of people living there started to go down. By 1960, only about 40 people called Rainbow home.
