Rajion Lashad Neal, born on March 28, 1992, is a former American football player. He was a running back, which is a player who carries the ball. Rajion played college football for the Tennessee Volunteers. After college, he joined the Green Bay Packers in 2014. He also played for several other teams in the National Football League (NFL), like the Miami Dolphins and Cleveland Browns. Rajion also played in the Canadian Football League (CFL) for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and in the Alliance of American Football (AAF) for the Memphis Express.
Early Life and High School Football
Rajion Neal grew up in Tyrone, Georgia. He went to Sandy Creek High School. He was a very important player on his high school football team.
Winning a State Championship
In 2009, Rajion helped his team win the Class AAAA state championship. He ran for 166 yards and scored one touchdown in the championship game against Clarke Central.
Senior Year Success
During his senior year, Rajion ran for an amazing 1,816 yards. He carried the ball 291 times, averaging 6.24 yards per carry. He also scored 33 touchdowns! Because of his great performance, he was named the Georgia Sportswriters Class AAAA State Offensive Player of the Year.
College Choices
Many colleges wanted Rajion to play for them. Rivals.com, a website that ranks athletes, thought he was one of the top running back players in the country. Rajion chose to accept a scholarship from the University of Tennessee. He also had offers from other big schools like Mississippi State and Penn State.
College Football Career
Rajion Neal played college football for the Tennessee Volunteers. He played both as a running back and a wide receiver.
Freshman Year (2010)
As a freshman, Rajion played in 10 games. He ran for 197 yards and caught seven passes for 100 yards.
Sophomore Year (2011)
In his second year, he played both wide receiver and running back. He caught 13 passes for 269 yards. He also ran the ball 27 times for 134 yards, scoring three touchdowns.
Junior Year (2012)
During his junior year, Rajion played in 10 games. He missed two games because of an ankle injury. Even with the injury, he was the team's top rusher, with 708 yards. He scored a total of nine touchdowns that season. He also caught 19 passes for 149 yards.
Senior Year (2013)
Rajion had his best college season as a senior. He ran for a career-high 1,124 yards. He also scored a career-high 15 rushing touchdowns. He caught 27 passes for 108 yards.
