Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav was born on July 24, 1971. He is an important leader in Nepal. He currently serves as the Vice President of Nepal. He took on this big role on March 20, 2023. Before becoming Vice President, he was the Minister of Forests and Environment for Nepal.
Ram Sahaya Yadav's Journey in Politics
Starting His Political Path
Ram Sahaya Yadav began his political journey in 1990. He joined a group called the Madheshi Jana Adhikar Forum, Nepal. Later, he helped start the Madhesi Jana Adhikar Forum. He became its first general secretary.
He was also involved in the first Madhesh Movement in 2007. This movement was a peaceful protest. It aimed to get more rights and fairness for people in the Madhesh region of Nepal.
Serving in Government
In 2008, Ram Sahaya Yadav was first elected to the Constituent Assembly. This was a special group of people. Their job was to write the rules, or constitution, for Nepal. He represented the Bara district.
He was elected again in 2017. This time, he became a member of the 1st Federal Parliament of Nepal. He won the election for the Bara 2 area. He received 28,185 votes, which was more than half of all votes (50.01%).
Mr. Yadav also served as a minister. He was the Minister of Forest and Environment. He worked in the government led by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
