Ramon Harewood's Football Journey
Ramon Harewood was picked by the Baltimore Ravens in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL draft. He was the 194th player chosen overall.
Time with the Baltimore Ravens
Ramon's first two seasons in the NFL were tough because of injuries. In 2010, he had surgery on both of his knees. This meant he couldn't play and was placed on the injured reserve list. The same thing happened in 2011 when he needed surgery for torn ankle ligaments. Again, he was placed on injured reserve before the season even started.
After two seasons recovering from injuries, Ramon worked hard to get ready for the 2012 season. He earned a starting spot as a left guard. He played his first professional game in Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals. For the first five weeks of the season, he played every offensive snap. He also helped out on special teams.
Even though he played well, he later lost his starting position to a more experienced player named Bobbie Williams. Ramon didn't play much after that, except for one offensive snap and four special teams snaps in Week 17. Even though he didn't play in the playoffs, he was part of the team that won Super Bowl XLVII. The Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers 34–31, and Ramon earned a Super Bowl ring!
On August 25, 2013, the Ravens decided to release him from the team.
Playing for the Denver Broncos
On January 22, 2014, Ramon Harewood signed a future contract with the Denver Broncos. This meant he would join their team for the upcoming season. However, he was released by the Broncos on June 3, 2014. After this, he did not play in the NFL again.
