Rana Rahimpour (Persian: رعنا رحیمپور) is a British-Iranian journalist. She was a main presenter and reporter for BBC Persian from 2008 until 2023. She is married to an Englishman and has two children, Tara and Damon.

Early Life and Education
Rana Rahimpour was born on January 9, 1983, in Tehran, Iran. She grew up in Tehran and lived there for the first 25 years of her life. She went to university in Iran. There, she studied English-Persian Translation at the Islamic Azad University. She also studied accounting at Al-Zahra University.
Her Journey as a Journalist
In 2008, Rana moved to London to start working for BBC Persian TV. She became one of their main presenters. In 2023, she decided to leave the BBC. She wanted to work as a freelance journalist. This allowed her to speak up for people in Iran who want more freedom. Because of her important work, she sometimes faced difficulties and threats. However, she continued to report important news.
Rana has covered many big news stories. These include Iran's nuclear activities. She also reported on important elections in Iran, like the 2009 and 2013 presidential elections. She reported for both BBC Persian television and BBC World Service.
As a reporter who speaks two languages, Rana covered Iranian politics. She appeared on many BBC shows. These included the main news program Newsnight and News At Ten. She also created interesting reports for BBC Radio 4. In 2019, she interviewed famous BBC journalist John Simpson. This was for the 40th anniversary of the Iranian Revolution of 1979.
