Raoul Bova (born August 14, 1971) is a famous actor from Italy. He first became a star in Italian movies, often playing romantic heroes. He later became known around the world for his roles in American films. Some of his famous movies include Under the Tuscan Sun, Alien vs. Predator, and The Tourist.

Early Life and Career Beginnings
Raoul Bova was born in Rome, Italy. His father was from Calabria and his mother was from Campania. Before he was an actor, Bova was a talented swimmer. When he was 16, he became a local champion in the 100-meter backstroke.
At 21, he served in the Italian Army in a special group called the Bersaglieri. He later studied physical education but left to follow his dream of acting. He took acting classes in Rome to learn the craft.

In 2000, Raoul Bova married Chiara Giordano. They separated in 2013. Since 2013, he has been in a relationship with actress Rocío Muñoz Morales. They met while working on the movie Immaturi – Il viaggio. The couple has two children together. Bova also has two children from his first marriage.
On October 15, 2010, Bova was named a Goodwill Ambassador for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. This means he helps raise awareness about the FAO's work to fight world hunger.
