What Was the Rapti Zone?
The Rapti Zone was one of the fourteen zones of Nepal. These zones were like large administrative divisions, similar to states or provinces in other countries. They helped the government manage different parts of the country.
Location of Rapti Zone
Rapti Zone was located in the western part of Nepal. It was known for its diverse geography, which included both flat plains and hilly areas. The Rapti River was a major natural feature of the zone.
How Zones Were Organized
Each zone in Nepal was divided into smaller areas called districts. The Rapti Zone had five districts within its borders. These districts helped to organize local government and services for the people living there.
Changes to Nepal's Zones
In 2015, Nepal changed its administrative system. The old zones, including Rapti, were replaced by new provinces. This change aimed to make the government more efficient and closer to the people. Even though Rapti Zone no longer exists as an administrative unit, its history and geography are still important to Nepal's story.
