Zones of Nepal facts for kids
Nepal is a beautiful country in Asia, known for its amazing mountains like Mount Everest! To help manage the country, Nepal is divided into different areas. Think of it like how your country might have states, provinces, or counties. Nepal has 14 main administrative areas called zones (or anchal) and 77 smaller areas called districts (or jillā). These zones are also grouped into five bigger development regions.
How Nepal is Organized
For a long time, these 14 zones were the main way Nepal was divided. This system started in 1962. However, around 1995, people started using the larger development regions more often. So, these five development regions became the main way Nepal was divided for planning and management.
