Bagmati (Nepali: बागमती अञ्चल Bāgmatī Añcal), is one of the fourteen zones of Nepal. It is named after the Bagmati River. Bagmati is in the Central Development Region of Nepal. The zone contains the Kathmandu Valley. The capital is Kathmandu. In 2011 the total population was 3,843,596.
Limestone, talc, zinc, lead and silver are mined and exported from Bagmati. Brown, white and pink marble are also exported.
