Bheri (Nepali: भेरी अञ्चल) was one of the 14 special areas, called zones, in the country of Nepal. It was located in the Mid-Western Development Region. The main administrative city for Bheri Zone was Nepalgunj.

Understanding Nepal's Zones
Nepal used to be divided into 14 zones. These zones were like big regions that helped manage the country. Bheri Zone was one of these important areas. Each zone had its own main city, which was the center for government offices and services.
Where Was Bheri Zone?
Bheri Zone was located in the southwestern part of Nepal. It was part of the Mid-Western Development Region, which was one of Nepal's five big development regions. This region was known for its diverse landscapes, from flat plains to hills.
Districts of Bheri Zone
Within Bheri Zone, there were five smaller areas called districts. These districts helped organize local government and services for the people living there. The districts that made up Bheri Zone were:

Nepalgunj: The Headquarters
Nepalgunj was the administrative headquarters of Bheri Zone. It is a very important city in western Nepal. Nepalgunj is known for being a major business and transportation hub. Many people travel through Nepalgunj for trade and to connect with other parts of Nepal and even India.
Changes in Nepal's Administration
In 2015, Nepal changed its administrative system. The old zones, including Bheri, were replaced by new areas called provinces. This change was made to help the government work better and be closer to the people.
Bheri's New Identity
After 2015, the districts that were once part of Bheri Zone became parts of new provinces.
- Banke District and Bardiya District are now part of Lumbini Province.
- Dailekh District, Jajarkot District, and Surkhet District are now part of Karnali Province.
This means that while Bheri Zone no longer exists as an administrative unit, its former districts continue to be important parts of Nepal's new provincial structure.
