Raquel Atawo, born on December 8, 1982, is an American who used to play professional tennis. She is now the head coach for the women's tennis team at Washington State Cougars.
Raquel was especially good at playing doubles tennis. She won 18 big doubles titles from the WTA (Women's Tennis Association). This includes two important Premier-5 titles. She won these at the 2012 Toray Pan Pacific Open and the 2014 Cincinnati Masters. She also reached the semifinals (the round before the final) at the 2014 Australian Open, 2015 Wimbledon Championships, and 2016 Wimbledon Championships. She achieved all these great results with her tennis partner, Abigail Spears.
Before becoming the head coach at Washington State, Atawo worked as an assistant coach for Auburn University's women's tennis team. She was also a volunteer coach for the University of California's women's tennis team.
