Redina Island is a small, ice-free island located near Antarctica. It's part of the Onogur group, which is found off the northwest coast of Robert Island in the South Shetland Islands.
This island is about 280 meters (918 feet) long from east to west and 130 meters (426 feet) wide. It's separated from Robert Island by a narrow water channel, only 20 meters (65 feet) wide. The island gets its name from the settlement of Redina in Western Bulgaria.
Where is Redina Island Located?
Redina Island is found at coordinates 62°21′16″S 59°41′02″W. This spot is about 1.22 kilometers (0.76 miles) north of a place called Misnomer Point. It's also 760 meters (2,493 feet) southwest of Shipot Point. Bulgarian explorers mapped this area in 2009.
