Redstone Lake is a beautiful lake located in Haliburton County in Ontario, Canada. It is found within the Municipality of Dysart et al.

This lake is part of the huge Great Lakes Basin, which means its water eventually flows into the Great Lakes. It is also connected to the Gull River system. Redstone Lake is about 6.5 kilometers (4 miles) long.

How Water Flows in Redstone Lake

Water flows into Redstone Lake mainly from the Redstone River. This river brings water from Pelaw Lake and Little Redstone Lake. It enters Redstone Lake from the northwest side. Another smaller stream, Harburn Creek, also flows into the lake from the northeast.

Water leaves Redstone Lake through two main rivers. Both of these rivers are controlled by special structures called dams. These rivers eventually join the Gull River. One river, the East Redstone River, flows southeast towards Eagle Lake. The other, simply called Redstone River, flows southwest towards Green Lake.

The Gull River is part of a big system called the Trent–Severn Waterway. This waterway connects many lakes and rivers, eventually leading to Lake Ontario. Because Redstone Lake is part of this system, it helps control the water flow. It acts like a reservoir, holding water and releasing it when needed. This helps manage water levels for the entire waterway.

Community and Activities

People who own cottages around Redstone Lake and nearby lakes like Bitter, Burdock, and Pelaw, have a group called the Redstone Lake Cottagers Association. This group helps look after the lakes and the community.

There is also a special airport for seaplanes at the northwest end of the lake. It is called the West Guilford/Redstone Lake Water Aerodrome. This allows planes to land and take off directly from the water.
