Reed Creek is located in the northeastern part of Hart County. It's right next to Lake Hartwell on the Savannah River. This big lake and river separate Reed Creek from the state of South Carolina.

The community covers a total area of about 88.8 square kilometers (about 34.3 square miles). Most of this area, about 61.3 square kilometers (23.7 square miles), is land. The rest, about 27.5 square kilometers (10.6 square miles), is water, mostly from Lake Hartwell.

The main road that goes through Reed Creek is Georgia State Route 51. This road travels north from the nearby town of Hartwell, Georgia, right into Reed Creek.
