Imagine you have a special app on your phone. This app shows you places in the UK where you can get free tap water to refill your bottle! These places include shops, cafes, restaurants, museums, and even local government buildings. The main goal of Refill is to stop the huge amount of waste that comes from single-use plastic water bottles. It also makes it easier for everyone to find good quality drinking water.

How Refill Started

The idea for Refill came from a person named Natalie Fee. She started a group called City to Sea in 2015 to launch Refill in Bristol, UK. City to Sea still helps run the Refill program today.

Finding Refill Spots

It's super easy to find a Refill point! You can use the special Refill app on your smartphone. The app shows you exactly where the nearest Refill stations are. Or, you can simply look for special signs outside shops and businesses that are part of the Refill network.

Refill's Growth

Refill has grown a lot since it started! By March 2018, there were already 5,700 Refill points. More and more places are joining all the time. Big companies like Costa Coffee, Starbucks, Pret A Manger, and Premier Inn have all their locations participating in the Refill scheme.
