Reginald Aaron Hodges (born January 26, 1982) is a former American professional football punter. He was chosen by the St. Louis Rams in the sixth round of the 2005 NFL draft. He played college football at Ball State University.
Hodges also played for several other NFL teams. These included the Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts, Seattle Seahawks, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Tennessee Titans, and Cleveland Browns.

Early Life and High School Football
Reggie Hodges grew up in Illinois. He played football at Centennial High School in Champaign. In his senior year, he was named First-team All-state in Illinois. He averaged 39.4 yards per punt during that season.
College Football Career
Hodges started punting for Ball State University as a freshman. He set a school record with 254 punts during his college career. His total of 10,210 punting yards was the second-highest in school history when he graduated. As a senior, he was named First-team All-MAC. He led his conference with 73 punts, averaging 42.6 yards each.
Professional Football Journey
Reggie Hodges had a long journey in the NFL. He played for many teams during his career.
Starting with the St. Louis Rams
The St. Louis Rams picked Hodges in the sixth round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He signed a three-year contract in July 2005. Hodges won the punting job for the Rams during training camp. He played in five games for the team. He averaged 38.0 yards per punt. The Rams released him in October 2005.
Time with the Philadelphia Eagles
In November 2005, the Philadelphia Eagles signed Hodges. He played in three games for them. He averaged 36.8 yards on 19 punts. One of his punts was blocked. The Eagles waived him later that month. He did not play for any other team for the rest of 2005. The Eagles signed him again in January 2006. However, he was waived before the season started.
Brief Stints with Other Teams
Hodges signed with the Indianapolis Colts in August 2006. He was released before the season began. He did not play in the NFL in 2006. The Colts signed him again in February 2007. He was released again in August 2007. He did not play in the NFL that season either.
In April 2008, Hodges signed with the Seattle Seahawks. He was released during the final team cuts in August. A few days later, he joined the practice squad of the New England Patriots. He was waived from their practice squad shortly after.
Playing for the New York Jets
In September 2008, the New York Jets signed Hodges. He played for the Jets for the rest of the 2008 season. The Jets waived him in April 2009. He was re-signed by the Jets in June 2009.
With the Tennessee Titans
In September 2009, Hodges was signed by the Tennessee Titans. He played for them for a short time. He was waived by the Titans in October 2009.
Years with the Cleveland Browns
Reggie Hodges joined the Cleveland Browns in November 2009. He became their main punter. On October 24, 2010, Hodges made NFL history. During a game against the New Orleans Saints, he ran for 68 yards on a fake punt play. This is the longest run ever by a punter in NFL history! It was also the longest run by any Cleveland Browns player that season.
In November 2010, Hodges signed a two-year deal with the Browns. This kept him with the team through 2012. However, in August 2011, he suffered a serious injury. He tore his left Achilles tendon during practice. This injury meant he could not play for the entire 2011 season. He was placed on injured reserve.
Life After Football
Reggie Hodges is one of the few African-American punters in NFL history. After his playing career, he became the Vice President of Fuzion Sports.
