Rekha Thapa (Nepali: रेखा थापा), born on August 21, 1982, is a famous actress, filmmaker, and politician from Nepal. She is well-known for her important work in the Nepali movie industry. She also strongly supports women's rights.
Over her career, which has lasted more than 20 years, Rekha Thapa has acted in over 200 movies. Many of her films feature strong female characters. They also talk about important social issues. She has won several awards, including the CG Digital Film Awards and NEFTA Film Awards for Best Actress. She also received two National Film Awards for Best Actress for her roles in Himmat (2006) and Bato Muni Ko Phool (2010).

Early Life and Career Start
Rekha Thapa was born in Salakpur, a place in the Morang area of eastern Nepal. After finishing school, she moved to Kathmandu to study more. She always wanted to be an actress. So, she took part in many modeling events and glamorous shows.
In 1999, she joined the Miss Nepal Pageant. She made it into the Top 10 finalists. Rekha Thapa follows the Hindu religion.
Personal Life
In February 2022, Rekha Thapa married Balram Shahi in a court ceremony. This was her second marriage. She was previously married to film producer Chhabiraj Ojha. They divorced in 2012. After that, she lived with her mother. Recently, she welcomed a baby girl.

Her Journey in Politics
Rekha Thapa has also been active in politics. In 2013, she joined the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist). However, she announced a year later that she was no longer part of that political party.
On December 12, 2016, Thapa joined the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP). In February 2017, she was chosen as a central member of the RPP. Other well-known people, like singer Komal Oli, also became members at that time.
