History of Reklaw
The city of Reklaw got its name in a very interesting way. It was named after Margaret Walker, who gave the land for the town to be built. But because there was already a town called Walker in Texas, they decided to spell her last name backward! That's how "Walker" became "Reklaw."
There's another town nearby called Sacul that was named in a similar way, by spelling a name backward.
Geography and Climate
Reklaw covers an area of about 2.9 square miles (7.6 square kilometers). Almost all of this area is land. Most of the city is in Cherokee County, with a small part extending into Rusk County.
