Remee Sigvardt Jackman (born Mikkel Johan Imer Sigvardt on 8 November 1974 in Frederiksberg, Denmark), known simply as Remee, is a famous Danish rapper, songwriter, producer, and composer. He has helped create many popular songs and is well-known for his work in music and on TV.

Remee's Music Journey

Remee is a very successful songwriter. He has written over 60 hit songs! His music has sold more than 25 million copies around the world. He often works with other talented artists like Thomas Troelsen.

Starting in Music

Remee became famous as a producer and songwriter in 1998. He worked with the pop duo S.O.A.P. on their first album, Not Like Other Girls. This album was a big success!

At the Danish Music Awards, S.O.A.P. won two awards. Remee was also nominated for Producer of the Year.

In 1999, Remee helped write and produce a song called "Let Love Be Love". Many Danish singers, including Remee himself, sang this song. It became one of the most played songs ever on Danish radio!

International Hits and TV

In 2003, Remee helped write the international hit song "Superstar" for singer Jamelia. This song was first sung by Danish artist Christine Milton. "Superstar" was so popular that it won Remee a British Ivor Novello Award. This award is a big deal in music!

Later in 2003, Remee also co-hosted the very first Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2003. He hosted it with Camilla Ottesen.

In 2005, Remee worked with Nicolai Seebach and Rasmus Seebach to create a special song. This song was a tribute to the people affected by the Boxing Day tsunami. Remee and many other Danish celebrities performed the song "Hvor små vi er". The song was incredibly successful. It sold so many copies that it went 13 times platinum! It also raised over 3 million Danish kroner (about 500,000 US dollars) to help the tsunami victims.

Being an X Factor Judge

From 2008 to 2010, Remee became a judge on the Danish TV show X Factor. This show helps find new music talent.

In 2008, he was one of the first judges, working with Thomas Blachman and Lina Rafn. He helped mentor the singers who were under 25 years old. His singers, Martin Hoberg Hedegaard and Laura Arensbak Kjaergaard, finished first and second!

In the same year, Remee also helped write the song "Disappear". This song was sung by No Angels and was Germany's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2008.

Remee returned as an X Factor judge in 2009 and 2010. He helped many young artists on their journey to become stars. After the third season, Remee decided to take a break from the show.

Returning to X Factor

In 2013, Remee came back to X Factor as a judge for the seventh season. He joined his old fellow judges, Thomas Blachman and Lina Rafn.

He continued to be a judge for seasons 8, 9, and 10. Remee has a fantastic record on the show! He has mentored the winning acts three times:

  • In season 8 with Emilie Esther.
  • In season 9 with Embrace.
  • In season 10 with Morten Nørgaard.

This makes Remee the judge with the most wins in the history of Danish X Factor!

Remee's Life Outside Music

Remee has a daughter named Emma Imani, who was born when he was 23 years old.

In 2012, Remee officially changed his name. He changed it from Mikkel Johan Imer Sigvardt to Remee Sigvardt Jackman. Jackman is the name of his biological father, and Sigvardt is the name of his adoptive father.

In 2014, he started dating model Mathilde Gøhler. They had a daughter together in 2015. On his birthday in 2017, Remee proposed to Mathilde, and she said yes!
