Early Days and Friendship
While The Beatles were getting experience in Hamburg, Germany, The Remo Four played for American Air Force members in France. The musicians from both bands were good friends. They often played at the same places in Liverpool. Sometimes they would even go to watch each other perform.
Working with Brian Epstein
After The Beatles became super famous, their manager, Brian Epstein, also signed The Remo Four. He worked hard to help them succeed. However, The Remo Four never became as hugely popular as The Beatles.
Epstein paired The Remo Four with another singer he managed, called Tommy Quickly. They released several songs together. None of these songs became big hits. Tommy Quickly later stopped making music.
The Remo Four then worked with other singers. One of these was Billy J. Kramer. They also released an album called Smile. This album came out on a German record label.
Recording with George Harrison
In late 1967, George Harrison from The Beatles was asked to record music for a movie. Instead of working with The Beatles, he invited The Remo Four to join him. The movie was called Wonderwall. It was not seen by many people. However, the music from the movie, called Wonderwall Music, became a small hit the next year.
