The Renaico River is a river in Chile. It forms a natural border between two important regions: the Bío Bío Region and the La Araucanía Region. This means the river flows right along the edge where these two areas meet.
About the Renaico River
The Renaico River starts in the Andes Mountains. It begins on the northwest side of the Cordillera de Pemehue. This is a part of the Andes that stretches out to the west. The river's starting point is north of a volcano called Tolhuaca.
Its Journey
As the Renaico River begins its journey, it flows next to the Malleco National Reserve. This reserve is a special protected area. The river follows its eastern and northern edges. The Renaico River travels for about 130 kilometers (about 81 miles).
Where it Ends
The Renaico River finishes its long journey by joining another river. It flows into the Vergara River. This meeting point is about 7 kilometers (about 4.3 miles) downstream from the city of Renaico.
