President Zhelyu Zhelev chose her to lead a special "caretaker" government. Before this, she was in charge of an agency that helped change state-owned businesses into private ones. Later, from 2012 to 2014, she also led the National Statistical Institute, which collects important information about the country.

About Reneta Indzhova
Reneta Indzhova was born on July 6, 1953, in a town called Nova Zagora. She loved to learn and went to university, where she earned a special degree called a PhD. She became a professor who taught about how countries manage their money and resources. She also worked as a financial expert for a political group called the Democratic Union. From 1992 to 1994, she was the head of Bulgaria's Privatisation Agency. This agency helped turn businesses that were owned by the government into private companies.
Leading Bulgaria as Interim Prime Minister
President Zhelyu Zhelev chose Reneta Indzhova to lead Bulgaria as an interim, or temporary, Prime Minister. This happened after the previous government, led by Lyuben Berov, ended. During her short time as Prime Minister, she became quite popular. She worked hard to make sure things were fair and safe for everyone in the country.
Other Important Roles
After her time as Prime Minister, Reneta Indzhova continued to be involved in public life. In 1995, she ran to become the Mayor of Sofia, which is the capital city of Bulgaria. She ran as an independent candidate, meaning she wasn't part of a specific political party at that time. She finished third in that election. In 2001, she also took part in the presidential elections, but she did not get a lot of votes.
In 2014, she was in the news again. At that time, she was the head of the National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria. She raised concerns about how things were being run within the institution, saying that some people were trying to influence decisions unfairly.
