The Prime Minister of Bulgaria (in Bulgarian, it's Bulgarian: Министър-председател на България) is the main leader of the government in Bulgaria. This person is usually the head of a group of political parties that work together in the Bulgarian parliament. This parliament is called the National Assembly. The Prime Minister also leads the group of ministers, known as the cabinet, who help run different parts of the country.
Sometimes, a Prime Minister is chosen by the President of Bulgaria to lead a special temporary government. This is called a caretaker government. Rosen Zhelyazkov served as Prime Minister from January 16, 2025, until he stepped down on December 11, 2025. He left office after many people expressed their views through protests.
