Bulgaria's Leaders Through Time
Principality of Bulgaria: Early Leaders (1878–1908)
Bulgaria became a principality in 1878. During this time, the country was led by a Prince, but the government was run by a "Chairman of the Council of Ministers," similar to a Prime Minister today. These early leaders helped set up the new Bulgarian state.
