Georgi Ivanov Atanasov (Bulgarian: Георги Иванов Атанасов) was an important Bulgarian politician. He was born on July 25, 1933, and passed away on March 31, 2022. He was a key member of the Bulgarian Communist Party.
Atanasov served as the Prime Minister of Bulgaria from 1986 to 1990. The Prime Minister is the head of the government in many countries. During his time, he supported a big change in leadership. This change involved removing Todor Zhivkov from his role as the Chairman of the State Council.
