Rhoda is a small, unincorporated community located in Edmonson County, Kentucky, in the United States. An "unincorporated community" means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town does.
History of Rhoda
Rhoda got its name from a post office that opened there in 1891. The person in charge of the post office, called a postmaster, named the community after his wife. The post office stayed open for about 13 years, closing in 1904.
Where is Rhoda Located?
Rhoda is found in the southern part of Edmonson County. It's about 2 miles (3.2 kilometers) southeast of a town called Brownsville. You can find its exact spot using these coordinates: 37°9′21″N 86°13′31″W / 37.15583°N 86.22528°W.
Local Waterways and Roads
The community is located along Beaverdam Creek. This creek flows into the Green River, which is a larger river in Kentucky.
Several roads help people get around Rhoda. Kentucky Route 3019 goes through the main part of the community. Also, Kentucky Routes 101 and 259 meet on the east side of Rhoda.
Rhoda is also considered part of the larger Bowling Green metropolitan area. This means it's connected to the bigger city of Bowling Green for things like jobs and services.
