Marece Benjamin Richards (born April 19, 1983), known by his stage name Rich Boy, is an American rapper. He became famous for his 2006 song "Throw Some D's". This song was a big hit, reaching number six on the Billboard Hot 100 music chart.
"Throw Some D's" was the main song from his first album, also called Rich Boy. This album came out in March 2007. It was very successful, reaching number three on the Billboard 200 album chart. His 2009 song "Drop" also became popular. Many other artists made their own versions of this song.

Early Life and Education
Richards grew up in Alabama. He started studying mechanical engineering at Tuskegee University. However, he decided to leave college to focus on his dream of becoming a rapper.
Music Career
Rich Boy signed a music contract with Zone 4 and Interscope Records. He then began working on his first album. Before his album came out, he appeared on other artists' music. He was featured on a Ludacris compilation and on mixtapes by artists like Drake.
First Album Success
On March 13, 2007, Rich Boy released his first album, Rich Boy. It included popular songs like "Throw Some D's", "Boy Looka Here", and "Good Things". "Throw Some D's" was a huge success. It reached number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It also hit number 3 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and number 2 on the Hot Rap Tracks chart. "Boy Looka Here" and "Good Things" also did well on the R&B chart. In 2009, he released a song called "Top of the World". This song was part of the album Music Inspired by the movie More Than a Game.
Later Music and Albums
Rich Boy planned to release his second album, Resurrected in Diamonds, around 2013. The song "Drop" was meant to be the first single from this album. Another song, "She Luvs Me (She Luvs Mi Knot)", came out in 2010. Famous producers like Dr. Dre and Polow da Don worked on these tracks.
On March 18, 2013, Rich Boy released a mixtape called Back to Class. This mixtape helped promote his second studio album, Break the Pot. The main song from the album, "Break the Pot", was released as a single in January 2013. It featured another artist named Hemi. Break the Pot was released on April 9, 2013. It included guest appearances from artists like Maino and Bobby V. The music video for "Break the Pot" also premiered on MTV Jams.
