Richard Adu-Bobie (born on January 12, 1985) is a talented Canadian sprinter. A sprinter is an athlete who runs short distances very fast. Richard was a backup runner, called an alternate, for Canada's 4 × 100 meter relay team. He was an alternate for this team at both the 2004 Summer Olympics and the 2008 Summer Olympics.

Early Life and School
Richard Adu-Bobie was born in Manchester, New Hampshire, in the United States. His parents are from Ghana. When he was young, his family moved to Canada. He became a Canadian citizen just two days before the Olympic tryouts.
Richard went to Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary School in Ottawa, Canada. This is where he first started his amazing sprinting journey.
College and Sprinting Career
After the 2004 Olympics, Richard went to the University of Florida. There, he earned third place in the 60-yard dash at a big college sports event. This event was called the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship. Sadly, he hurt his leg that same spring. This injury made him miss most of the outdoor running season.
In 2006, Richard moved to Texas A&M University. He continued to train and compete there.
Richard became a very experienced international sprinter. He competed in many important events. These included the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships and the Canadian Championships. He also ran in the Pan Am Games. He took part in the 2005 World Athletics Championships and the 2007 World Athletics Championships. Richard used to hold the Canadian junior record for the 100 metres race.

After finishing his studies at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, Richard moved back to Ottawa. He lives there today.
