Richard Adu-Bobie facts for kids
Richard Adu-Bobie (born January 12, 1985) is a speedy Canadian runner, known as a sprinter. He was an extra member, called an alternate, for Canada's 4 × 100 meter relay team. This was for both the 2004 Summer Olympics and the 2008 Summer Olympics.

Early Life and Starting to Sprint
Richard Adu-Bobie was born in Manchester, New Hampshire, USA. His parents were from Ghana. He moved to Canada when he was young. He became a Canadian citizen just two days before the Olympic tryouts. Richard went to Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary School in Ottawa, Canada. This is where he first started his sprinting journey.
College and International Races
After the 2004 Olympics, Richard went to the University of Florida. There, he finished third in the 60-yard dash at a big college event. This was the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship. Sadly, he hurt his leg that spring. This meant he missed most of the outdoor running season. In 2006, Adu-Bobie moved to another school, Texas A&M.
Richard became a very experienced international sprinter. He competed in many important events. These included the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships and the Canadian Championships. He also ran in the Pan Am Games. He took part in the World Championships in 2005 and 2007. He used to hold the Canadian junior record for the 100 metres race.

Life After College
After finishing his studies at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, Richard moved back to Ottawa. He still lives there today.
