Sir Richard Waller was an important English soldier and government official. He is most famous for capturing the Duke of Orléans during a big battle called Agincourt. This brave act earned him the title of a knight.

Richard Waller was born in Groombridge, Kent, England, around the year 1395. His father was John Waller, and his mother was Margaret Landsdale. His family had roots in Sussex, another county in England.
Military Career
Richard Waller served in the English army during the Hundred Years' War. This was a long series of conflicts between England and France.
Battle of Agincourt
In 1415, Richard fought in the famous Battle of Agincourt. This was a major victory for England. During this battle, Richard captured Charles, Duke of Orléans. The Duke was a very important French noble. For his bravery, King Henry V knighted Richard right there on the battlefield.

Sir Richard Waller also fought in another important battle called the Battle of Verneuil. This battle took place in 1424.

Sir Richard Waller was married to Silvia Gulby. They had nine children together. They had seven sons and two daughters. Their daughters were named Alice and Ann.
