Richey is a small town in Dawson County, Montana, United States. It is located north of Glendive, which is the county seat. In 2020, about 164 people lived there.
Richey has a strong farming economy. Farmers grow crops like wheat, oats, and barley. Many people also raise cattle and sheep. The town's first post office was opened by Clyde Richey in 1911.

Education in Richey
The Richey School District provides education for students. It teaches children from kindergarten all the way through 12th grade.
Richey High School was once known for its "Royals" sports teams. The Royals won state championships in Football (1979), Girls Basketball (1999 and 2000), and Volleyball (2000).
Because fewer students were enrolling, Richey High School joined with Lambert High School in 2009. They formed a combined sports team called the "R&L Fusion." The R&L Fusion Boys Cross Country team won a state championship in 2015.

The Richey Historical Museum is a great place to visit. It has many items from the early days of the town. These items show what life was like for pioneers.
Every summer, Richey also hosts an annual rodeo. Rodeos are exciting events where cowboys and cowgirls show off their skills with horses and cattle.
