Marker located at the 45x90 point

One of the most interesting things about Rietbrock is its unique location. The Marathon County Park Commission has placed a special marker here. This marker shows the exact spot where the 45th parallel north and the 90th meridian west meet.

Think of it this way:

  • The 45th parallel north is exactly halfway between the equator and the North Pole.
  • The 90th meridian west is a quarter of the way around the world from the Prime Meridian.

This means the 45x90 point in Rietbrock is the exact center of the northern half of the Western Hemisphere. It's a cool place to visit and stand right in the middle of this important geographical spot!
