The Story of Rimel

The area where Rimel is today was first settled a long time ago. In 1833, a man named Alexander W. Rider and his wife, Isabella Sharp Rider, moved there. Records show that Alexander and his brother bought land in the area.

Later, after Alexander Rider passed away in 1892, his home was bought by Mr. Ruben D. Rimel. Mr. Rimel changed the old cabin into what became known as the Rimel Post Office. The community was named "Rimel" after Ruben D. Rimel, who was one of the first postmasters there.
