Rincon's Economy
Rincon is located about 33 miles north of Las Cruces, New Mexico. It is also about 20 miles south of Spaceport America. This is a special place built for launching spacecraft.
Spaceport America was built by the New Mexico Spaceport Authority. It received money from both the state and the county. Building the spaceport created about 800 temporary jobs. Some people in Rincon were not sure if the spaceport would create many long-term jobs.
As of 2012, one company, Virgin Galactic, planned to hire about 150 people at the spaceport.
